Top-5 Bicycle Accessories to make your life complete.

Top-5 Bicycle Accessories to make your life complete.

OK sure, that's a big call, but we select, sell and support a vast range of bicycle and e-bike accessories, so we're at the coalface of what works - and what doesn't. Here's our look at some absolutely outstanding accessories people just love and constantly give us positive feedback on. In other words, this gear is tried and tested, so you don't have to be a guinea pig with your hard earned. And no, sadly on this occasion the handlebar-mounted umbrella thingy above didn't make the list. Maybe next time.

So, in no particular order, here we go::

1. Knog OI bicycle bells. It is so typical of Knog to take something that has been around for decades and go about redesigning it from the ground up and in the process create a far superior product. The Knog OI bells have a great loud tone that makes itself heard, they look great and are superbly engineered. They come in different sizes, finishes and designs and work wonders to improve your riding safety. No need to shout, "Oi!" any more. With one single ding the Knog bells will let everyone you're coming though. In style.

2. Ergon Grips. We have published an article on these beauties before (LINK HERE!) and they are quite literally the gift that keeps on giving. If we had a dollar for every time a cyclist has complained about sore hands or wrists, we could have retired years ago. The Ergon grips are designed in Germany to address this particular issue and they hit it out of the park every single time. A huge range of sizes and designs will have everyone covered and wondering why they didn't get some sooner. This includes yours truly.

3. Tubus Racks. These are another extremely high quality German product that tick all the boxes you would expect - practical, simple, tough and very light weight. The range covers various sizes of front and rear racks, starting with the Fly Classic, which weighs only 420g, but can haul 18kg - right up to racks like the Logo Evo 26/28, which is rated to 26kg (tested to 40kg) and yet only weighs 760g. Quality materials and high level workmanship are featured throughout. Put simply, we can't think of a better range of bike racks.
4. Ortlieb Bags. Every so often, when you hop on your bike, you also need to carry something with you. It might be something as small as keys and a phone - or maybe a few day's worth of groceries and hanging plastic bags from your handlebars isn't always the sharpest option. This is when you need an Ortlieb bag or a pair of Ortlieb panniers. These guys make, in our opinion, the best bags you can get for your bike. The range covers it all, quite literally, from small seat bags to frame bags, handlebar bags, panniers and front fork bags. It is pretty safe to say that if there is a spot on your bike to attach a bag then Ortlieb have made one for you. They are very durable, waterproof and extremely light weight.

5. ETook ET490L Plate Locks. We actually published an article on these locks (LINK HERE!) a little while ago. Old school U-Locks and chain locks are great options, but they can be cumbersome to carry. A chain lock will almost always need to go into a bag, while U-Locks can come with mounting brackets, many modern bike frame designs can make it difficult to mount them in a practical position. The ETook ET490L folds into a very small space and comes with a side-loading bracket that mounts in equally tight spaces. However, when extended, the ET490L is 90cm long and can reach around poles and posts many U-Locks just can't. High level of security, easy stowing and light weight make this lock a winner.

So, there you go - this is a list of gear we know people love. Get in touch and we'll help you out with your e-bike and traditional bike accessories to make sure you get the most out of your investment.
