The SR Suntour NCX SP12 seatpost has had an upgrade to SP25 and will be available in 30.9mm and 31.6mm diameter versions, while the SP12 will still remain current for the 27.2mm diameter seatpost.
The new SP25 has much thicker post walls for increased firmness and sturdier construction. The forged seatpost head is also more robust and the wider linkage stance also reduces lateral movement and adds to the longevity of the suspension mechanism.
While the standard post ships with a medium internal coil spring, softer and harder spring options are also available. The standard coil for recommended for riders from 70-95kg, while the soft coil is for riders up to 75kg and the hard coil is for riders from 90-120kg.
It is also important to note that due to the thicker seatpost walls, the SP25 uses a 27.2mm coil spring in both, the 30.9mm and 31.6mm posts. The SP25 needs to have a matched coil spring.
As was the case with the SP12, the SP25 also offers 50mm of suspension travel for a plush ride experience. The SP12 protective cover fits the SP25 perfectly and helps keep dirt and dust away from the suspension mechanism.
